The Bulloak Jewel was once likely much more widespread throughout the Brigalow Belt, when vast areas of old-growth bull oak woodland stretched across southern Queensland. Historical records suggest the butterfly occurred in places including Bendidee National Park and Millmerran.

Today, however, the species survives in only a handful of locations around Leyburn.
