In 2011 Natura Pacific were engaged to develop a natural environment strategy and assess and classify Environmental Values (EVs) in the Brunei Maura District. The assessment specifically required the identification, classification, mapping and development of a series of recommendations and management actions to protect EVs. This included assessments of water quality, riparian vegetation, stream banks, intertidal communities, fauna, habitat, terrestrial vegetation communities and coastal zones. Following a detailed literature review, EV maps and classification descriptions were developed for the entire district, identifying key conservation and restoration areas, setbacks for long term protection and assessment codes for ongoing management. An important component of the field operation involved stakeholder surveys and engagement with community members and groups to identify perceived EVs. A wide demographic was involved in the consultation process, including government departments, members of the Brunei Royal Family and local community.    – ENVIRONMENTAL / ECOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT – MANAGEMENT & MONITORING – COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT – MAPPING & GIS – ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING –
