Conducted in 2011, this river processes study involved implementing a rapid site assessment methodology to assess riparian and mangrove vegetation structure and condition of the Coomera River. Specific consideration was given to structural layers, presence of anthropogenic influence, weed incursion, habitat value and bank erosion. A series of detailed vegetation maps and classification descriptions were developed for identifying key restoration areas. Liaison with key government stakeholders was undertaken and restoration approaches developed which required a scientific literature review and development of detailed cross sections and restoration actions. The direction of these actions included soft/bio-engineering stabilisation approaches which incorporated micro-habitat creation, sediment deposition, water energy dissipation and buffer setbacks. A subset of this work was the identification of a number of hypotheses and writing scientific papers based on the data and results of the project.    – ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT – MANAGEMENT & MONITORING – RESTORATION PLANNING – GIS – ECO RESEARCH – COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT – ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING –
