An ecological assessment was conducted by Natura Pacific in 2015 to determine the feasibility and potential ecological impacts of planned bank stabilisation works at a site near Brisbane’s city centre. A desktop review assessed legislative constraints that may apply in relation to environmental restrictions as well as determining any potential for the presence of habitat, ecosystems and species of conservation significance. A thorough on-ground assessment was also undertaken whereby trees on the site were surveyed for average diameter at breast height, height and cover along with an assessment of individual tree health and their potential value as habitat for native fauna. Additionally surveys recorded individual flora and fauna species found on the site, with particular attention to species that are considered endangered, vulnerable, rare or locally significant, along with other signs that the site may be being utilised by native fauna. Recommendations to support the ecological functions and significance of the site should the proposal go ahead provided essential tools for the client.    – ECOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT – ENVIRONMENTAL LEGISLATIVE REQUIREMENTS – ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING –
