We had a fun turnout at our artist competition launch day on 30th July at the Making Good Alliance (MGA) headquarters, Tamborine Mountain. This was our first of many collaborative events with MGA to educate and raise awareness of environmental issues and strategies to empower the community towards sustainable solutions for conservation.
We officially launched our artist’s competition to find a talented individual to create images that we can use for our Back from The Brink Action Hub webpage coming to life at the end of 2022. These images will support the conservation of the threatened species covered in our Back from the Brink audio-visual series by linking people to tangible actions, events and resources.
If you missed the event, you can still participate in the competition and receive a paid contract with Natura Pacific to produce the images.

On 10th September, Natura Pacific will host a second event at the MGA headquarters. This event will be even bigger with expert guest speakers Richard Bull (Chairman of the Richmond Birdwing Conservation Network) and Nick Moore (Owner of the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk) discussing conservation updates for the amazing Richmond Birdwing butterfly.
We will also be giving away a bunch of FREE wonderful native plants for your garden, and Natura Pacific ecologists will be screening another episode from our Back from the Brink series. At this event, we will announce the winner of our artist’s competition, and artists will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work.
This event has something for everyone. For aspiring environmentalists and filmmakers and for people simply wanting to be a part of the conversation on conservation.
Get involved by submitting your entry and submission form if you intend to enter the competition, or by just coming to the event on the 10th to learn about the wonderful world of birdwings! RSVP here: https://fb.me/e/1HZqzViNq
The competition is open to all ages with a parent or guardian’s consent.
Please provide submitted images in colour.
The plant giveaway is limited to first to come first served.
