On the 29th March Natura Education were so excited to be a part of Gold Coast’s Biggest Tree Planting Day which was a fantastic community event organised by the Gold Coast Catchment Association and held at the Country Paradise Parklands in Nerang. Our team were there with some beautiful native animals such as a saltwater crocodile and an olive python. Educator Dionne was there to help and our director Kieran Richardt also stopped by to say ‘Hi’ and help plant some trees.
Apart from thoroughly enjoying talking to so many enthusiastic and interesting members of the Gold Coast community, we also took some time to do a quick Waterwatch activity, inviting people to join us in investigating the health of the nearby waterway more closely. Natura Education facilitate the Gold Coast Waterwatch program on behalf of City of Gold Coast and are proud to be able to take this educational program to schools and the community across the Gold Coast.
On this day community volunteers managed to plant 10, 000 trees 11:30 in the morning! This was huge effort for community members and participants who came from all over the coast to be involved. It was great to be a part of it!
