Botanical Bazaar

Community Workshops and Presentations

For two years running Natura Education was invited to display and present community workshops and an interactive presentation at Botanical Bazaar, an annual garden and sustainability festival designed to educate and inspire nature enthusiasts of all ages. This involved designing child-friendly activities to engage children and families throughout the day which were centred around the gardening and environmentally friendly themes of the event. Children and families were supported by our friendly and enthusiastic educators to learn about composting, seed planting and mini beasts. They could even learn how to make handy shopping bags out of old t-shirts! Leading up to this event, Natura Education also facilitated the running of a competition for local schools to showcase what gardening / composting activities they were engaging in, with cash and complementary education programs being awarded as prizes to several schools. At the 2018 event Natura Pacific botanical experts also took part in an hour-long interactive presentation focussed around gardening with native plants and the use of the GroNATIVE app which was co-created by Natura Pacific with Griffith University and the QLD government.
