While many of Queensland’s native tree species have long been documented, named, and researched by science, one has long remained a secret. Only a couple of decades ago, a group of amateur botanists stumbled across it. Its glossy leaves and huge bottle-shaped trunk were unlike those of any native plant they’d seen before.
