Sustainability Symposium 2019

Natura Education was invited to attend the inaugural 2019 Sustainability Symposium, held at Somerset College on the Gold Coast. Almost 600 participants from 39 schools and 44 organisations attended the symposium, which had 3 main objectives:
– to establish a common language regarding sustainability
– to address the 12th sustainable development goal (responsible consumption and production): and
– to build partnerships for sustainable education with our local region.
Natura Education delivered an interactive presentation and workshop to Year 3-6 students and their teachers titled “Magic Gardens – Designing for Sustainability”. Promoting biodiversity is one of the keys ways schools and communities can take action and work towards a sustainable future. The workshop illustrated how to improve and protect the land, the local ecosystem, and plant and animal habitats using Natura Pacific’s GroNATIVE app.

“All the students and staff at All Saints would like to thank you very much for the wonderful experience you provided to our Year, 8 students. It was certainly a learning curve for them and provided a much better understanding of our waterways. Everything has a consequence and I am sure they realize now how important it is to protect our environment especially our waterways. Hoping to continue our community liaison in the future.”
