Between 2018 and 2019, Natura Consulting worked with the Hancock Group to prepare a Detailed Ecological Assessment (DEA) for a vegetation clearing application (operational works) for agricultural purposes over a 47.7 ha property located in Logan. The project entailed assessing the biodiversity values present on and adjacent to the site, with particular attention to the occurrence of threatened species and vegetation communities. The ecological assessment proposed clearing works to be located outside of key areas of high ecological value and was assessed against the applicable benchmarks under the Logan City Council Planning Scheme in relation to biodiversity areas which capture both state and local government interests.
